Setting the Processing Options for a Recording Session
A session can be set to open an AppleScript file, URL or any other file at a specified time relative to the beginning of a session recording.
It can also be set to do the same when a recording is complete.
The pre-processing options can be used to open a streaming broadcast in your favorite media player. Use the Prior to Recording menu to delay the recording long enough for the stream to launch, buffer and begin to play.
To set the processing options for a WireTap Studio recording session:
- Go to the Window menu and select Recordings Sessions, or press command 2 to open the Recording Sessions window. Click on New to create a new session, or select an existing session and click on Edit.
- Click on the Processing tab.
- Set the Prior to Recording menu. Things to consider: launch and loading times of applications and URLs.
- If a URL is going to be opened prior to recording, paste the URL into the pre-processing field. If a file is to be opened, click on Choose...and select the file.
- Set the application to open the URL or file entered into the pre-processing field. If no application is specified, the Finder will determine the proper application.
- To have the application in step 5 quit when the recording is finished set the Quit on Stop option.
- If a URL is going to be opened after a recording has been made, paste the URL into the post-processing field. If a file is to be opened, click on Choose...and select the file.
- Set the application to open the URL or file entered into the post-processing field. If no application is specified, the Finder will determine the proper application.
- Click on OK to save all of the session settings.
